Tamra’s Cheesy Bacon Asparagus Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 bunch fresh local asparagus (12-14 sm - med spears)

  • 4 eggs

  • 1/2 cup homo milk

  • 3-4 slices of bacon, cooked and sliced

  • 1 1/4 cup triple cheese blend

  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1 unbaked Davison pie shell

Instructions: (see Video Above)

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees

  2. Put medium sauce pan of water on to boil

  3. Thinly slice asparagus (I use a bean slicer) or chop in 1-1 1/2 inch pieces—cut tops off and save

  4. Slice cooked bacon

  5. Mix together milk, eggs, garlic, salt, and pepper—stir in cheese

  6. Once water starts to boil, dip asparagus in and cook approx. 3 min, rinse in cool water.

  7. Place half of your sliced asparagus into pie shell

  8. Sprinkle half of bacon on top

  9. Layer more asparagus

  10. Pour milk and cheese mixture in pie shell

  11. Sprinkle bacon and asparagus tips on top

  12. Cook for about 45 minutes
