Flowers Give More Than They Take..

I indulge in flowers; it’s money I spend for the sheer pleasure of it. I find myself buying fresh flowers in the winter to brighten my house when the valley clouds set in and the days are dull. In the spring, I bring the outside in by picking wild flowers and arranging them in a relaxed and casual way. Every time I come to the farm in the summer, the flowers scattered throughout the grounds and on the patios make me smile. Nothing says “welcome” to me more than an abundance of flowers!
Today I want to share the artist behind the flowers at the farm. Tom’s sister, Joyce Davison, is the gardener/artist/nurturer that devotes many hours every week to come to the farm and care for her masterpieces. We’ve always had beautiful flowers at the farm but since Joyce has taken on the challenge, the flower show is amazing! She has planted over 80 pots and planters, eight hanging baskets, and four major flower beds. We have planted thousands of annuals for your enjoyment (and mine) and to create a welcoming atmosphere for you to relax and enjoy the view. Linda, Joyce’s sister, also helps with the watering one or two days a week. I so appreciate the flowers every day and am tremendously thankful for Joyce and Linda and their commitment to creating beauty here at the farm.
Joyce grew up on this farm, moved away for university and her teaching career, and then upon retirement, moved back to Vernon. She is married to Blaine Olson and they have two daughters. Joyce is a huge help to Bob and Dora by regularly giving them a helping hand with the many day-to-day tasks. Come by and say hi - she is here most mornings talking to the plants and sharing her love.

I hope the flowers brighten your day and make you smile too.
Come and enjoy the beauty.
