Harvest is underway! Bins and bins of apples are being hand-picked from our trees every day. From there, they are immediately brought to our new packing facility where they are packed, either for direct sale in our market, for wholesale customers, or for our fundraiser program. We deliver a lot of apples as fundraisers to schools, kids sport teams and clubs throughout Western Canada. Apples are picked, sorted, boxed and often shipped within a week of coming off the tree. That’s as fresh as it’s gets! (Unless, of course, you take a U-Pick Johnny Popper ride and pick them straight off the tree yourself.) We are thrilled to offer these groups freshly picked apples, and to partner with them to help raise money for their program.

Building a new packing shed has allowed us to use the former packing area at the country village for selling our produce, giving additional space and a better shopping experience for our faithful customers. The staff are enjoying it too, as it is much more efficient, and a more comfortable temperature to work in. We have a great team of hardworking (and handsome) farmers making this all happen: Lance is managing the harvest, Kevin is overseeing the sales and logistics, Paul is managing the packing. The new produce area, The Packing Shed, is stocked full of pears, squash, prunes, root vegetables and many different apple varieties; there is something for every taste palate. If you enjoy decorating for fall, we also have an amazing selection of gourds and pumpkins in every shape and size, including stackers in blue, white and peach!
U-Pick apple rides end this Sunday, September 26th, making this the last week of them. The fun doesn’t end, however, because starting Thursday, September 30th we are opening up the Pumpkin Patch with rides running from 10 - 4:30 every Wednesday to Sunday, including Thanksgiving Monday.
We are picking Ambrosia for our last week of "pick your own apples" ending this Sunday, September 26.

Fall really is Fabulous at Davison Orchards so come and take part in the fun! Enjoy the abundance of fresh produce, take a photo (or five) in one of the many harvest displays around the farm, or just sit and relax on the beautiful patio surrounded by autumn splendor.
I just LOVE fall; it’s the best season of all!
